The weather is perfect for  grilling and who doesn’t love Kabobs on the Barbeque. Made with GROUND turkey makes this kabob recipe especially unique. The sauce is a very healthy alternative to some other traditional sauces as well. This delicious recipe was submitted by  Nadeem Hajee from Kitchener Ontario. A winner in our 2012 online contest.


Kabob Ingredients
2 lbs lean ground turkey
1 cup diced Spanish onions
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp ground coriander
2 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp ground mustard
1tsp finely chopped mint Salt and pepper to taste

Honey Yogurt Sauce
1 Cup plain yogurt
4 oz Honey
1 tsp chopped cilantro
1 tsp chopped garlic
1 tsp chopped ginger
½ tsp lemon juice Salt and pepper to taste

Method of Preparation

In a bowl combine all the honey yogurt ingredients and lightly fold the mixture. Set aside in the refrigerator until the grilled turkey kabobs are ready to serve. In a bowl, combine kabob ingredients and mix together. Divide the mixture into 20 portions. Form each portion onto wooden skewers. Grill both sides of the skewer for approximately 6 minutes on each side or until fully cooked. Serve the grilled turkey kabobs with the honey yogurt


Add chunks of onions between kabobs. Adds flavour and keeps the meat from falling apart.
