Having a theme party? Well, if Hawaiian is the fan favourite, our Hawaiian Turkey burger is a must serve. It will be so delicious I bet your family will be adding this to your BBQ favourite list this summer
1 lb Hayter’s Lean Ground Turkey, fresh
60ml (1/4 cup onions, chopped fine
60ml (¼ cup) pineapple juice
125gram (½ cup) bread crumb, or crushed croutons work well
60 ml (2 tbsp) barbecue sauce
5 ml (1 tsp) ground ginger
4 pineapple rings, reserved
4 red pepper, sliced into rings, reserved
Method of Preparation
Combine all ingredients except pineapple rings and red pepper in large bowl. Mix thoroughly. Form into 4 patties. Grill on medium barbecue for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until juices run clear. Internal temperature should be 77C (170F).
Put pineapple slices right on the grill for a couple minutes, turn and grill additional 1 more minute. Top with burger and red pepper ring. Serve on fresh 12 grain bun and garnish with garlic-mayo and argula.
After forming patties, make an intent with a spoon in the centre of each burger slightly to avoid the burgers from ‘swelling’ and the burgers will cook more evenly.
