Hayter’s Farm is a family-owned turkey farm in Dashwood, Ontario that has been operating for over 70 years with over 100 team members from across the Globe. Families have come to know and love our turkey products thanks to partnerships with major retailers like Farm Boy, Longo’s, and Hello Fresh. We are the only Federal establishment in Canada to raise, process, package & retail all in one location. Managing the entire process allows us to adapt, implement change, and create the best product.

Key Responsibilities:
As the Human Resources Generalist at our growing, hands-on team environment, you will have the autonomy to create a positive impact and see your results in action. We hire people, not positions. So, if you are more experienced or excited about certain areas, we can collaborate on what responsibilities fit you.
- Policies – Updating and improving our Employee Handbook, onboarding program, policies, and procedures in line with business objectives, legislation, and progressive industry practices
- Events & Donations – Creation and delivery of events to celebrate our amazing team & community
- Recruitment – Local and international, targeted and passive
- Internal Support – Collaborate with all levels of management to identify and implement training, labour planning, and team member performance reviews
- Payroll – complete bi-weekly payroll cycles, ensuring accurate employee information and hours in collaboration with our accounting team
- Marketing – supporting the V.P. of Sales & Operations with promotional items, managing updates on our website and social media accounts
Qualifications:
- 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources required in the areas of recruiting, training, WSIB claims management and policy creation
- Working Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights, and Health and Safety Legislation
- Certificate/Degree in Human Resources Management required
- Resourcefulness & Ownership – you know everything can be figured out, and use your positive attitude, network, and resources to find solutions.
- Computer confidence – Microsoft Suite, Adobe & payroll systems
- Flexible/Team Player – There is no job above you, and no job below you. We work together and do what it takes to get the job done
