Farm Equipment Operator

Hayter’s Farm is a family-owned turkey farm in Dashwood, Ontario that has been operating for 75 years with over 150 team members from across the Globe. Families have come to know and love our turkey products thanks to partnerships with major retailers like Sobey’s, Farm Boy, and Hello Fresh. We are the only Federal establishment in Canada to raise, process, package and retail all in one location. managing the entire process allows us to adapt, implement change, and create the best product.

Key Responsibilities:

The Farm

  • Operating tractors and heavy equipment to support agricultural buggy operator, tillage, planting and harvesting
  • Transporting inputs/supplies by truck pulling a trailer, wagon or other equipment
  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot issues and complete basic mechanical tasks and building maintenance
  • Familiarity with precision farming technologies, GPS systems, and sensor applications
  • Property and facility maintenance including ditch mowing & grass cutting
  • Ability to work extended hours during busy periods including evenings & weekends

Qualifications

  • Basic mechanical skills necessary
  • Ability to work independently
  • Previous farming experience and knowledge of crop farming concepts is preferred.
  • 1 year experience operating heavy equipment as an asset
  • G License is required, DZ or AZ an asset

Schedule

This position is a full-time permanent opportunity working with our Farming Operations team.

Monday – Friday from 7AM – 5PM, hours will increase in seasons of Spring and Fall
